MBA Polymers USA
Our headquarters facility in Richmond, California is also the Research and Development center for new materials and technology, new customer formulations, and allows us to test out new raw materials, processes and equipment at large scale before being released to our production plants. Located near San Francisco and in close proximity to major technology hubs, this office provides technical oversight and leadership to all our plants worldwide.
Core Capabilities
Our US plant functions as a pilot-scale production facility, where plastics from a wide variety of commingled waste streams have been successfully recycled through the invention of new equipment and technology. It is here that we test new raw materials, develop new technology, create custom material formulations, evaluate equipment and recycling processes, and conduct large-scale demonstration of recycling techniques, prior to introduction at our various global facilities. These activities support our global processing plants and laboratories.
Plant Size and Capacity
Our Richmond pilot plant occupies over 4,000 meters² and has the capacity to process about two tons of mixed scrap per hour. Richmond is home to about 25 corporate engineers, researchers, accountants, plant operators and several company executives. This facility contains most of the processing and laboratory equipment found in our full-scale production plants, including an extruder. We can run large scale trials of new raw materials, process equipment and techniques without interrupting production at our world-scale plants.
